Being in a relationship somehow drives people to have a mindset of sharing everything, be it fears, expectations, life goals, or hopes. Even in some relationships, partners tend to share more than spiritual values to the point that it is considered as invading privacy. We must have encountered some of our friends who do these things; exchanging passwords, asking for a picture every time they're apart, and constantly checking their partners' phones, or maybe you're a part of this category too? Some people think that these actions are carried out to encourage honesty and loyalty. According to Kaspersky Lab, 70 percent of couples share PINs, passwords, or exchange fingerprints to access each other's devices. However, don't you think it's suffocating that your partner has to know every single thing about what you do in the grasp of their hand?

Honesty is one of the fundamental foundations in every relationship, and some people think that exchanging passwords to their partner's social media or exchanging pictures for the daily report are shortcuts to obtain this one thing. This is also done to make them feel more secure by knowing the daily activities of their partner whenever they're apart as prevention from an affair that these days are easily done through social media. No matter how much you trust your partner, you can't deny the fact that all relationships have bumpy roads, and some of them would eventually end in some ways. Well, it's such a relief if a relationship is ended wisely and acceptably, but what if the relationship ends on bad terms? How about the password and all the private things you once shared?

We all realize that everyone has their dark sides even when they're not provoked, and it will get worse if the two parties involved have bad blood for each other. This could lead the privacy invasion to blackmail and scamming as we never know what people have in their sleeves as their weapon for an act of revenge, for example, porn revenge. It's a possible issue that might arise after having a privacy invasion by letting your partner go through your personal space way deeper than they should have. Research carried out by law firm Slater and Gordon, found that 15 percent of people polled say they have been victims of revenge porn. Revenge porn itself is an act of posting explicit content (pictures or videos) publicly without the consent of the person involved in the content. This is indeed a very cruel thing a human could ever do.

Maintaining a long-lasting and healthy relationship is not an easy job to do, even for two persons. But all we need to know is that having a relationship is not all about knowing or diving into the personal lives of our significant other, as we all have some things that we want to keep for ourselves. There should be boundaries set between each other and trust them for whatever that is and establish it as a chance to develop your trust and honesty throughout the journey of your relationship.

Either way, if your partner chooses to be loyal to you, they will no matter how much freedom you give to them, and it swings both ways regardless of how secure you want to make yourself feel for knowing every smallest detail about them, if they want to cheat on you, they will cheat. You also need to realize the fact that your partner's life doesn't revolve around you all the time, and they have their own life, and so do you.
