2021 passed like in a blink of an eye where we were all too occupied with what social media had to keep us entertained while staying at home. We can't deny the fact that TikTok, Instagram, Twitter, and so many more have accompanied us through our ups and downs that we hold them very close by heart and hands, of course. Through these platforms, we also got to manage to keep up with trends or things that happened to go viral in 2021. So here you go, some best picks of viral moments in 2021 that you may want to reminisce about!

BTS and McDonald's Collaboration
BTS meal, that's how this menu that consisted of 9 pieces of McNuggets, medium-sized french fries, medium-sized cola along with sweet chili and the cajun sauce was named after. The BTS meal menu was not much of something that could be considered as innovative or spectacular, but the fact that the sauce included was mentioned to be the BTS members' favorite sauce. The wave of BTSxMcD was quite chaotic as people-especially ojek online were willing to wait in line for hours only to get this one menu. The phenomenon made quite a fuss as some branches had to shut because of the non-conducive situation the day the menu was released.

Bernie Sanders Memes All around Twitter
The inauguration day of President Joe Biden was supposed to be a big blowout on the internet, but no one expected that senator Bernie Sanders would steal the spotlight. Only with oversized mittens and a brown coat with crossed arms and legs, he managed to become a big topic on Twitter as people created memes of Sanders to be put into historical moments, movie scenes, and iconic pictures of all time. Sanders himself, of course, said a word about his unexpected viral moment on the internet in an interview for Late Night with Seth Meyers. "I was just sitting there trying to keep warm, trying to pay attention to what was going on," He told Meyers.

Croissant + Waffle = Croffle
Another big thing that emerged from social media, croffle was first created in 2017 by Irish pastry chef Louise Lennox but happened to blow up around 2021 from TikTok. This snack is (basically) just a croissant dough placed into a waffle maker to make it a crispier pastry. After the phenomenon of croffle surfing all over the internet, cafes and restaurants started to serve croffle with varieties of toppings as their new menu. It's pretty much safe to say that we're all thankful that croffles exist and are easy to find now!

Taylor Swift All Too Well 10 Minutes Version
10-minutes songs are rare, but they're there on Spotify and Apple Music for you to listen to. However, when it comes to Taylor Swift, who sang in it for such a duration, can Swifties get enough of it? Of course not. Taylor Swift recently released her re-recorded album 'Red' with some of her drafted songs that were never published before; one of the songs included is All Too Well 10 Minutes Version. She admitted that she originally wrote that song for 10-15 minutes long, but she decided to cut some parts out to make it seem 'normal' as a sidetrack on her 2012 Red album. The song became a big topic-especially among Swifties (Taylor Swift's fandom) on every social media platform. Her 10 minutes version of All Too Well is arguably the best song she has ever written and is Taylor's personal favorite as well.

Numerous viral things happened in 2021, which had managed to draw netizens' attention. So which one is your favorite?
