Tyra Banks returns to Victoria Secret Fashion Show
The Victoria Secret fashion show is making an epic return this year! While the news was announced a few weeks ago, the line up of 'Victoria Secret Angels' is being revealed gradually. So far, we've had confirmations from Taylor Hill, Candice Swanepoel, and Gigi Hadid. However, the VS team is also bringing up the first generation of VS Angels, Tyra Banks, to join the others and show them how it's done. We're hoping they would also resurrect all the legendary VS Angels back to the runway!
TOM FORD NAMES HAIDER ACKERMANN AS CREATIVE DIRECTOR
Haider Ackermann has been announced as the new creative director of Tom Ford, succeeding British designer and longtime Tom Ford protégé Peter Hawkings, who stepped down in July. The news was met with excitement by founder Tom Ford himself, who stated, "He is an incredible colorist, his tailoring is sharp, and above all, he is modern. We share many of the same historical references, and I could not be more excited to see what he brings to the brand,"
Ackermann's first collection for Tom Ford will debut at Paris Fashion Week 2025. Let's wait and see!
NAOMI OSAKA'S US OPEN OUTFIT BECOMES THE TALK OF THE TOWN
Naomi Osaka made waves at the 2024 US Open during her match against Karolina Muchova by wearing a showstopping custom outfit from Ambush's Yoon Ahn x Nike collaboration. The Japanese tennis star captured everyone's attention with her bow-embellished ensemble, featuring a white zip-up jacket adorned with a striking green bow on the back, paired with a matching green skirt layered over white tulle. Completing the look were white and green Nike sneakers, each sporting a matching green bow. She also did the second set with similar white-black theme outfits. Very cutesy!
CLARE WAIGHT KELLER IS UNIQLO'S NEW CREATIVE DIRECTOR
Uniqlo has named British designer Clare Waight Keller its new creative director. After her tenure at LVMH's Givenchy and Richemont's Chloé, Clare launched her first collection for Uniqlo last year under a sub-label called "Uniqlo:C." Clare will not only continue her work on "Uniqlo: C" this fall, offering a relaxed take on British wardrobe staples like wool-blend overcoats and quilted barn jackets, but she's also been tasked with overseeing Uniqlo's core women's and men's collection for Autumn/Winter 2024.
ZARA TEAMS UP WITH STEFANO PILATI FOR UPCOMING COLLECTION
Spanish retailer Zara is collaborating with the renowned designer Stefano Pilati for their newest capsule collection. LORO PIANA X NEW BALANCE SNEAKERS
Loro Piana, a brand synonymous with quiet luxury, is teaming up with New Balance to release a new 990V6 silhouette. Although the 990 silhouette itself is a familiar model-having been developed by New Balance since the 1980s with various iterations-this collaboration stands out due to its use of high-end materials. The shoes feature a beautiful nubuck in a gray chestnut color that complements the shoe's fabric upper, subtle details include cashmere and wool linings, and a discreet Loro Piana monogram. The collaboration is limited to 1,000 pairs and will be priced at USD 1,500.
VIVIENNE WESTWOOD CREATES CAPSULE COLLECTION WITH PALACE
Another luxury-meets-streetwear, Vivienne Westwood is collaborating with Palace on a new capsule collection. Set to launch on September 6, the collection features ready-to-wear pieces, accessories, and skateboards. This collaboration also marks the debut of Palace's official womenswear category. Highlights of the collection include graphic T-shirts adorned with teddy bears, statement denim pieces, corsets, and a Gore-Tex jacket, skirt, and trousers featuring the Vivienne Westwood 'Salon' print.
